Radici Marine x Bali Marine Life Set the Vibe for DKR and Shores by Liu Jo

Radici Marine x Bali Marine Life Set the Vibe for DKR and Shores by Liu Jo

Against the natural tones of the green wall and wooden hanging bed, the use of color in the booth was limited and deliberate in its palette. Areas with the most dramatic use of color included the carpet, couch and decorative throws and pillows. The placement of these products were not strictly defined from an early stage, but rather were picked up along the way as the booth came together. The original idea for the booth intended to contain only the colors that were seen in the carpet.

The carpet in question was designed using Radici Marine’s Carpet Studio, with ILM’s TIMØ Ronan developing the design, drawing inspiration from colorful Balinese marine life. The carpet began its life simply as an image on a computer, altered with just a few clicks of a button.

The carpet’s heavy marine influence can be seen clearly through the inspiration images, which, paired with careful decision making and creativity, brought the beautiful piece to life, taking the carpet from a digital idea to a real, incredibly crafted piece. This would not have been possible without Radici’s platform, which allows customers to completely customize their own one-of-a-kind carpet using their latest designs and custom color palettes.

When putting together palettes and ideas, it was important to ensure that each piece was emphasized, but not overwhelming, and unique, but still cohesive. Brand members took on this challenge, with DKR’s CEO using the carpet and its colors as an inspiration for the blankets and throws that she carefully chose to be included. This process even led to the coincidental inclusion of Lu Joi’s own couch, as the company was so drawn in by the look that brand member’s had worked on for the booth, they wanted to join. When it finally came together, the result was a beautiful, biophilic design that represented weeks of effort and collaboration.

ILM❤️CSI P.S. Thanks For An Amazing Time FRFR

ILM ❤️ CSI P.S. Thanks For An Amazing Time FRFR

Excited conversation dominated the CSI floor, as attendees from all over the world came together at one of the most anticipated cruise ship industry events of the summer. Companies used each of their individual spaces as a canvas to showcase their products in the most creative of ways.

For Innovation Lounges, it wasn’t just one brand to showcase, but fourteen. ILM Brand Members were given the opportunity to contribute their products to the booth, with their individual and collaborative efforts resulting in a cohesive space that transformed ILM’s “blank canvas” into an innovative interior design space, while still highlighting each individual product and brand.

The expo itself was held at the Miami Exposition Center, a huge space in Miami Beach complete with a private VIP area in the center, decorated booths all around the hall, and most importantly, lots of people. ILM’s booth stood out thanks to its design making it very comfortable and inviting. There were places to sit, creative designs to admire, and people to talk to.

For instance, if an attendee was admiring the bed, Michala was there to discuss their gorgeous luxury linens, while Hespera was there to give insight on the sustainable, circular mattress. If you liked the frame of his sun lounger, Andres from Baumtec USA could let you know that it was made from the Baumtec SWC, or sustainable wood composite, a revolutionary product designed with the environment in mind.

The detailed planning and hard work put in was able to come to fruition thanks to each brand member who came together to support the booth and each other. With the result being one of the most highly visited booths at the event, brand members and representatives were thrilled to celebrate the booth’s success at the official CSI afterparty held at the ILM showroom.

B&O Meets Beats by Mykel at Innovation Lounges Marketplace

B&O Meets Beats by Mykel at Innovation Lounges Marketplace

The collaboration of sound and artist, the ultimate experience.

Using the Bang and Olufsen speakers installed all over the ILM showroom, DJ Mykel was able to use them to configure his music’s sound to perfection while he was mixing. Not only was it a great inclusion and promotion for the B&O speakers, but it substantially contributed to making the party such a success by providing the ultimate listening experience for guests.

Mykel was able to really collaborate with the B&O audio system in order to show the most of both his talent and the speaker’s, which delivered excellent clarity and dynamic bass, adapting to Mykel’s every move. Every party needs music, but it becomes a whole new experience with a great DJ pairing his skill with the incredible B&O speakers.

Atop the innovative Shores Cabana stage at the showroom, DJ Mikel played alongside a live drummer. The musical duo were crowd favorites, and the speakers certainly helped by elevating their music with crystal clear sound. It was certainly a successful union, one that serves as a microcosm of the sort of wonderful, mutually beneficial relationships that can form at Innovation Lounges.

It made an already fun and exciting event all the better, as attendees are sure to agree.

In case you missed out, no need to worry. B&O’s Business Development Manager, Florin Helf, commented that “Bang & Olufsen was proud to be the exclusive audio partner for the Lounge and events like this are incredibly valuable to our strategic partnership with the Lounge. We are excited to build on this year’s success for an even grander sound scape for next year’s event!”

Making the ILM CSI Booth & Party – BTS

Making the ILM CSI Booth & Party – BTS

In the last 2 weeks leading up to the CSI exposition, ILM’s booth plans were constantly shifting around, while dozens of tweaks were made daily. It was no simple task to ensure the booth and party would be successful, with just a fraction of the process including coordinating international shipments of the the products, wrapping the truck, getting sustainable wristbands for the afterparty made, organizing what was to be taken to and from the booth, making sure everything was within budget, and dealing with various tropical storms, mishaps and delays.

By the end of the planning stages, organizing shipping and keeping track of supplies coming in became the major focus. Making sure that everything was arriving in time and keeping track of what went where was vital. With a booth that was designed to feature the works of fourteen ILM brand members, it was most important that each brand was well represented; that their work was highlighted and that they had something to be proud of when they saw the booth. Brand members were incredibly helpful with this, eager to ensure their products were being represented with a display that was on par with their luxury design and craftsmanship.

One by one, these pieces came together. First to arrive was the customized Radici rug, with a color palette handpicked by ILM’s own TIMØ Ronan using Radici’s easy and innovative Carpet Studio platform. Next came the structure, the Shores teak sun lounger and Cabana, and wet box made from Baumtec USA’s sustainable wood composite.

Over the next several days, the sun-lounger and prototype were sent in, the cushions for the wet-box were being made, pieces were falling into place. All of this was just one step towards assembling the booth. Next came the transportation of each product to the event, using ILM’s newly wrapped truck which advertised the booth, as well each brand member.

Following this, of course, was setting up the booth at the CSI venue, a time consuming process requiring a great deal of effort, but with results that made it all worthwhile. With such a detailed and extraordinary vision of what the booth should look like, as well as such dedicated efforts to bring it to life, it is no shock that the actual booth was a wonderful success.

Innovation Lounges ❤️ Cruise & Ferry Interiors

Cruise & Ferry released the Cruise & Ferry Interiors 2022 Digital Edition just before the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo 2022 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. It was when we finally sat down with the print edition that we realized how much love Cruise and Ferry gave us. We’re humbled and honored that an industry-defining publication like Cruise and Ferry chose to celebrate our collective efforts.

Cruise & Ferry’s Shelly Palmer said of the feature, “We were delighted to feature the Miami Innovation Lounge on the front cover of our CFI Directory in the 2022 issue of Cruise & Ferry Interiors. The lounge provides an amazing space to showcase some of the interior products used onboard passenger ships worldwide, so we felt it was a perfect fit with our CFI directory, which offers a comprehensive guide to companies working in the cruise and ferry interiors market.”

The company, who made its name in private yachting, currently produces in both the EU and the US, even further reducing their global impact. With a range from crew to top suite and all in between, designed for lifetime use, and modularly constructed using no glues, Hespera mattresses redefine bedding with responsible foresight.

BAUMTEC USA Launch Their New Diani Cabana Line

BAUMTEC USA Launch Their New Diani Cabana Line

Made of wood waste and recyclable resins, Sustainable Wood Composites offer a circular, long-lasting, low maintenance alternative for wood, OSB, fiber-cement, vinyl and more.

Miami, FL, May 23, 2022 – Another product from Baumtec USA, designed with the environment in mind, that is generating lots of buzz in hospitality is their new cabana line. Baumtec has designed and developed their new, sustainable Diani Cabana Line, made from SWC (Sustainable Wood Composite). The cabana’s cube structure is built on an aluminum frame that hosts the slats, which compose the walls and roof of the cabana. The Diani Line has a standard cube size of 9.8 feet (3 meters) for each wall, with the standard model featuring slats in brown with a soft plain finish. However, this premium product line is fully customizable. The finish of each slat can have any texture or feel you’d like, embossed, grooved or sanded. The color palette to choose from is infinite, as are the options for size and dimensions.

The Sustainable Wood Composite is a vital element of the product. The durability of the SWC used is much better than that of the wood product it replaces. Cabanas are constantly exposed to the elements and all types of weather that may directly affect their look and condition. Not only does the Diani Cabana Line significantly increase time between replacement cycles, but it also maintains a better look throughout its product life.

Tortuga Festival Partners with Renuable and Lean Orb to Save Our Oceans

Tortuga Festival Partners with Renuable and Lean Orb to Save Our Oceans

Miami, FL, May 17, 2022 – Rock the Ocean’s Tortuga Music Festival is an annual music event held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The festival drew its typical 35,000 fans each day. This year, the organizers partnered with two local companies Lean Orb and Renuable.

Lean Orb is a compostable foodservice packaging company supplying festivals, hotels, schools, restaurant groups and other businesses that are serving food and drinks on-the-go.

Renuable is a Florida-based compost community that offers curbside organic waste pick-up and converts it into a sustainable landscaping amendment and fertilizer to improve our local soil and water ecosystems.

The partnership had an incredible impact for the local and global communities this year:

  • Since all food vendors as well as the bar were using compostable packaging goods, more than 204,000 units of single-use plastics were prevented from entering the local landfill. Products included: cups, food boats, utensils, straws and other catering supplies.
  • Tortuga Music Festival is responsible for the diversion of roughly 30,240 pounds or 15.12 tons of waste, which is about 26,611 pounds of carbon dioxide not going into the atmosphere. (The EPA calculates this diversion to be equivalent to growing 2000 trees for a year, or the amount of carbon that 14.3 acres of US Forests could sequester over a whole year).
  • The group provided volunteer assistance for nearly 18 commercial food vendors on site with proper training and consultation on packaging and food waste.
  • 35,000 people were educated on how to party sustainably.
